Registrar, Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun visited the CSIR - Institute Of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh.
Dr Manoj Raje, Director, CSIR-IMTech welcomed the dignitaries and apprised about the research and development activities of the Institute. Dr Raje took the dignitaries for a visit to main facilities of the Institute.
Prof Rana praised the acumen of scientists, and said there are immense potential areas where scientific community can come forward and help natives of Uttarakhand to have better quality of life. He encouraged scientists for scientific and technological interventions for reviving traditional knowledgebase. He highlighted the issues in agriculture, soil, tissue culture, healthcare particularly in women and children, and conventional farming. He shown concern for the development of new methodologies and technologies with traditional knowledge and modern Science to resolve issues in agriculture, horticulture etc. He lauded the efforts of IMTech in the areas of AMR, environment, industry and plastic waste management, livestock, and public health.
